China's Gonna Kick Your Ass

Working in Shenzhen, China this week. And every time I come back to China I continue to feel amazed at the size, extent of change and just complete modernization. Of course there are rural areas but there are are also plenty of trailer parks in the US.

Who says that America does it big. Come to China and find out how big things are. Massive developments, huge factories, large corporations and plenty of breading, 1.2billion people!!!!! Not to mention every flipping ChinaTown in and offshore Chinese.

Cheap man everything cheap as shit. I can eat until I'm fat. Service is excellent. Hygiene can improve but hey I'm in Asia and that is part of the beauty :-) Another comment, Thailand has nothing over China.

You know that the top 3 corporations now in the world are Chinese when just a few years ago they were US? Watch out. Learn your Chinese fast! You'll need it when they take over ;-) To all my arrogant and ignorant American friends I'm sorry but when it all happens I only have so much room in my bomb shelter. I told you so, Rome only lasted 1000 years.

Peace Out

Control

I've always fully believed that I can control everything in my life. That I can mold the final outcome of things just by truly believing I can and working my ass off to make it happen.

Yet often things don't happen exactly as I plan. I guess that is why I'm always in such a bad mood and upset. Is this why I'm often so pessimistic because I believe I can but ultimately I know it won't happen haha..

How do I explain all the bad habits I have. Why I eat like a pig and drink like a fish. Is this being in control and enjoying it or ignoring it because I have no control? hmmm..

Or is it because sometimes those in my life cannot control or be allowed to control their lives and then it affects mine. I obviously don't control the will of others or how they feel or what their final decisions is or what may not be their decision.

Maybe my idea of being in control is just flawed and false. Maybe I'm just not making any sense but what I know is that it all fucking sucks.

I have got some serious writers block. Thinking about the recent lost of my Wingman. Another one hits the dust.

Here's to you Thai! For every time you took one for your buddy.

For every time you just were stupid.

For every time, what the hell you doing in this one?

Courage, Why I Do Dumb Things

So is courage and bravery why I do not fear the things I should or willing to take chances others would not? Or is it because I am just plan out stupid to recognize the risk and outcome? Often a few drinks definitely is the reason for some of the dumb shit I do, my "liquid courage" haha :-)

But on a positive note, the fact I am willing to take some risks has also brought on some of the most wonderful things in my life. Most importantly it has allowed me to fully experience life and fulfill many of my wildest dreams. Without courage and bravery, today I would still be living in a little house in suburban Seattle haha.

I encourage all my friends to always be courageous and brave. Don't let anything get in your way of reaching your goals and dreams. Any challenge can be overcome if you put you heart to it. Below are some great quotes on COURAGE and I have bolded a few parts. My favorites is from Mark Twain.

Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear - not absence of fear.
Mark Twain (1835 - 1910)

Courage is the ladder on which all the other virtues mount.
Clare Booth Luce (1903 - 1987), in Reader's Digest, 1979

The bravest thing you can do when you are not brave is to profess courage and act accordingly.
Corra Harris

Courage is fear that has said its prayers.
Dorothy Bernard

Courage is doing what you're afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you're scared.
Eddie Rickenbacker (1890 - 1973)

A coward turns away, but a brave man's choice is danger.
Euripides (484 BC - 406 BC), Iphigenia in Tauris, circa 412 B.C.

Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you're scared to death.
Harold Wilson (1916 - 1995)

A timid person is frightened before a danger, a coward during the time, and a courageous person afterward.
Jean Paul Richter (1763 - 1825)

Courage and perseverance have a magical talisman, before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish into air.
John Quincy Adams (1767 - 1848)

Courage is being scared to death - but saddling up anyway.
John Wayne (1907 - 1979)

The only courage that matters is the kind that gets you from one moment to the next.
Mignon McLaughlin, The Second Neurotic's Notebook, 1966

A hero is no braver than an ordinary man, but he is braver five minutes longer.
Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 - 1882)

When you meet your antagonist, do everything in a mild and agreeable manner. Let your courage be as keen, but at the same time as polished, as your sword.
Richard Brinsley Sheridan (1751 - 1816)

Keep your fears to yourself, but share your courage with others.
Robert Louis Stevenson (1850 - 1894)

Fortune helps the brave.
Terence (185 BC - 159 BC), Phormio

Many would be cowards if they had courage enough.
Thomas Fuller (1608 - 1661)

Some have been thought brave because they were afraid to run away.
Thomas Fuller (1608 - 1661)
